Who We Are

Our Mission:

Building on the legacy entrusted to us by our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, we support our partners around the world to build healthcare capacity and academic knowledge in order to provide enhanced healthcare for all their citizens. This will always be accomplished by applying our values of dignity and respect of all.

Our Vision:

Enhancing Global Healthcare Through Committed Partnerships

The International Outreach Program of St. Joseph’s Health System helps save lives in developing countries by providing advanced specialty training for their doctors, here in Canada.

We’re a non-profit organization that partners with universities, medical schools and teaching hospitals in countries that need more doctors trained in specialties like internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesia and surgery, to name a few.

In partnership with McMaster University, we provide medical students and doctors the academic knowledge and clinical skills they need to prevent illness, restore health, save lives—and train other doctors to do the same. Our trainees also acquire leadership, communication, negotiation and teaching skills that help them generate lasting change in their communities and countries.
